Cranberry's Building
Location: 7 S. New Street, Staunton, VA
Original Date of Construction: 1758 (one of the oldest standing in Staunton)
Building Use: Retail and restaurant
Highlight: The building was originally a stone structure as seen on the gable ends. The brick façade was added during the Victorian era to modernize its appearance. Over the years the building has served as a women’s clothing store, New York deli, tailor’s shop, taxi garage, Chinese laundry, and general mercantile.
Union Bus Terminal
Location: West corner of New and Johnson Streets, across from Parking Garage, Staunton, VA
Building Use : Commerical space on first floor, upper story apartments
Highlight: Received State and federal historic tax credits
R.R. Smith Center for History and Art
Location: 20-22 South New Street, Staunton, VA
Original Date of Construction: 1896
Building Use: Originally built as a hotel, adapted re-use during renovation into Non-profit offices and gallery space
Highlight: Original design by noted local historic architect T.J. Collins

Location: Staunton, VA

Note: This was the most recent building to receive a rehabilitation on the block

10 South New Street
Location: west side of South New Street, Staunton, VA
Original Date of Construction: ca. 1840 (another older building, note the roof line)
Note: Rehabiliated to house artist studio (back), storefront (currently Medieval Fantasies Co.) and Apartment
South New Street Today
Location: South New Street, Staunton, VA
Highlight: If you are lucky enough to visit this block, pop into Reunion bakery for fabulous pastries and bread, visit the R.R. Smith Center for History & Art, eat lunch at Cranberry's, shop at the fun stores ... and don't miss the secret garden behind the Smith Center.
